Technology rant

I don't know why MS keeps pushing office updates on Mac saying they are critical. With every update more things are broken. The latest being, opening an attachment in Entourage takes forever. The last update totally messed up my PPT toolbars. None of them would be visible. You would have to go unselect a toolbar, then re-select it and then click anywhere on the slide to make it appear. I mean, how productive it makes me.

And what is with the latest Firefox?! It is so damn slow to load and respond and it behaves so weirdly that I can hardly believe this was the browser that wanted to revolutionize the internet browsing experience.

But shouldn't you be reading what the update does before you install it? Sometimes an update is just not worth it, but some other times, while it may alter functionality, it may also improve security or fix some other critical problem.

I don't like it when it messes up the interface... but I'd like to assume there is a reward behind the nuisance it creates.

@Prabha - I don't usually read, I confess. I actually don't know where it says what it is going to do ;) But some updates from MS for example the ones on XBOX, don't tell you what they are and threaten that if you do not agree, you cannot sign in to XBOX live, pure blackmail ;)
